COFFIN CAROUSEL formed in 2012 in Melbourne, Australia, when Howard Von Noise (David Howells) conceived the project; it became fully active in 2015 after his work with Hatchet Dawn and Diamond Noir concluded. Carved from the roots of horror punk and sludge metal, the band are the haunted chainsaw ride of extreme music relentlessly evolving heavier with each release.

Their discography moves from the debut EP Fiend (2015) and full-length Between Death & Dead (2017) mixed by Grammy winner Neil Kernon through Face Melting Chunky Stuff (2019) and Order Of The Bat (2022), into a self-titled upheaval in 2023 that pushed the group toward death black riffing and harsher vocal delivery. On their fifth LP, Quantum Chainsaw Part: Three Six Nine (out 26 September 2025 via NOISE INC.), COFFIN CAROUSEL double downs on sludge metal while adding Swedish death HM2 chainsaw tones, blackened riffs, droning feedback and throat savaging vocal layers from Howard Von Noise.

Mixed by Julian Renzo at Legion Studio Productions and mastered by Alan Douches, the album’s eleven tracks led by the single and video “Purest Gold” mark a darker, more savage chapter. Live, the band have supported Misfits, Wednesday 13 and Michael Graves; they remain uncompromisingly underground, committed to original songwriting and ferocious organic performance.
